Eligibility Criteria
The applicant organization must:
- Applicant must hold a current tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. This includes: traditional agencies that have current 501(c)(3) status; a recognized government entity requesting funds for public charitable purposes; K-12 public schools; community colleges or universities; or churches/faith-based organizations for projects benefitting the community at large. Individuals are not eligible applicants. (See graphic to help determine eligibility.)
- Applicant must use grant funds within and for the benefit of the residents and communities of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle.
- Applicant must provide appropriate financial statements.
- Not eligible, parochial and private schools.
- Proposals will not be accepted from organizations that have not fulfilled the reporting requirements of any previous grants.
Ineligibility
- General operating requests
- Requests for support groups for health-related fields
- Requests for Pre-schools, K-12 schools
- Requests for therapies that include animals (not directly animal welfare)
- Direct requests to the Slentz Advisory Committee
- Organizations located outside the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle.
