This microgrant initiative supports artists, designers, curators, and cultural producers of color with unrestricted $5,000 grants and includes mentorship and opportunities designed to foster long-term creative and community impact.
This year’s cycle focuses on recipients based in New York, where selected grantees will join a dynamic cohort of peers and gain access to programming and networks within the broader arts ecosystem. Founded in 2020 in response to a moment of global unrest, the Jar of Love Fund has evolved into a powerful platform for resource redistribution and cultural care—disbursing more than $300,000 in direct support to date.
In 2025, they continue this momentum by deepening commitment to creatives based in New York. This new cohort will join a growing community of Jar of Love alumni whose practices exemplify artistic excellence, cultural innovation, and social impact.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be 18 years or older, reside in New York State or adjacent Tribal Nations, and be actively working within the arts. They welcome applications from individuals across all disciplines—including visual art, performance, choreography, writing, design, curation, and other forms of cultural production. They strongly encourage submissions from practitioners across all gender identities, sexual orientations, disability statuses, and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are committed to equity in arts funding and will continue to prioritize outreach to historically underserved communities.
