Program Areas
The programs and resources supported through the Leadership Development Foundation provide education, professional development and financial assistance to students and future stewards of land and livestock in the Southwest.
- High School Programs
- High school programs provide young leaders an unparalleled opportunity to gain beef industry knowledge and grow their professional development skills.
- Collegiate Programs
- Collegiate programs provide students with personal learning experiences, and a chance to broaden their network, connect with leading industry figures and gain professional development skills.
- Internships
- Internship programs through TSCRA provide one-of-a-kind opportunities for students to network with stakeholders throughout the beef industry and gain valuable experience working alongside the staff and leadership.
- Professional Development
- TSCRA has developed educational and networking opportunities for cattle raisers ages 18 to 40 to learn about their chosen industry, develop leadership skills and make vital contacts to advance their careers in agriculture.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration for a grant, the applicant:
- Must operate his/her business in an economically depressed or blighted area in Texas or Oklahoma;
- Must be disadvantaged;
- Must have experienced difficulty in obtaining conventional financing because of his/her existence in a deteriorated neighborhood or because of his/her disadvantaged status;
- Not be an employee, officer or member of the board of directors of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association or a parent, spouse, child or grandchild of any such person.
