The WCVB has allocated $16,000 for 2025-2026 grants, with the individual grant maximum award $4,000. The grant award can be no more than 50% of the total event budget. This grant is a reimbursement grant.
Eligible Expenses of WCVB Sports Grant
Eligible expenses for the WCVB Sports Grant include official and scorekeepers’ salaries, facility rental, trophies, medals, and event marketing targeted to those 50+ miles from 64093.
Criteria
- Tourism Marketing Grant Items to Remember
- Registered nonprofit in good standings (501c3 or 501c6)
- Provide proof of event liability insurance
- Submit a completed W9
- Event must be held in 64093 postal code
- Clearly demonstrate it will increase demand for overnight lodging in Warrensburg; Funding awarded will be based on the events impact on area tourism stakeholders.
- Contact local hotel(s) to reserve at least the number of rooms projected using the application within two weeks (14 days) of receiving award notification. Forward confirmation to the WCVB Director.
- Application must be submitted a minimum of 30 days before the event date
- One WCVB grant award per organization per program year
- Events are only eligible for a maximum of five years unless the event has had substantial growth, or a new component has been added.
- Funding requested must go toward event advertising expenses placed 50+ miles from 64093. The total funds requested cannot exceed 50% of the event’s total budget. The maximum grant award is $4,000.
- If awarded funding, the applicant agrees to recognize the WCVB accordingly.
- Reimbursement documentation is due within 30 days following the event’s conclusion. Incomplete documentation may result in funding not being awarded.
