The mission is to improve the quality of life for residents of the western slope of El Dorado County through accessible and inclusive philanthropy.
Types of Grants
An organization may apply for only one grant per granting year. The three categories of grants are:
- Inspiration Grants
- Inspiration Grants do not have a specific focus, thereby inspiring nonprofits to identify and address our community’s most pressing needs.
- Acorn Grants
- A total of three (3) Acorn grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that have not previously received a grant from the WFED. New and established nonprofits are encouraged to apply.
- Impact Grants
- A total of three (3) Impact Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations offering direct impacts on the western slope of El Dorado County. This includes but is not limited to human services, such as those pertaining to mental or physical health, education, youth development, or services to children, families or seniors, arts, community beautification, animal welfare, or community development.
Funding Information
- Inspiration Grants
- They will be awarding two grants of up to $26,000 each.
- Acorn Grants
- They will be awarding three grants of up to $10,000 each.
- Impact Grants
- They will be awarding three grants of up to $10,000 each.
Grant Period
June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
This Grant is open to all nonprofits, in good standing, serving the residents and communities of El Dorado County. If a nonprofit does not have an established western slope office, it may collaborate or partner with a qualifying organization. The qualifying nonprofit must serve as the grant applicant. Organizations who have been funded in the prior 2 consecutive years need to sit out one year before applying again.
