In an effort to remain an effective grant making organization, WFED continues to expand its grant opportunities to cover a broad range of needs including basic human needs, children and youth development, and arts and culture.
Types of Gants
- Inspiration Grants
- Inspiration Grants do not have a specific focus, thereby inspiring nonprofits to identify and address community’s most pressing needs. They will be awarding two grants of up to $26,000 each.
- Acorn Grants
- A total of three (3) Acorn grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that have not previously received a grant from the WFED. New and established nonprofits are encouraged to apply. They will be awarding three grants of up to $10,000 each.
- Impact Grants
- A total of three (3) Impact Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations offering direct impacts on the western slope of El Dorado County. This includes but is not limited to human services, such as those pertaining to mental or physical health, education, youth development, or services to children, families or seniors, arts, community beautification, animal welfare, or community development. They will be awarding three grants of up to $10,000 each.
Eligibility Requirements
The Foundation seeks proposals from non-profits, schools, county agencies and religious organizations, as well as other groups conducting charitable work who respond to the focus and goals outlined in each Request for Proposal. Grants are made which benefit the communities of El Dorado County and surrounding areas. Funding may be given to organizations with offices outside of El Dorado County for services or programs for the communities of El Dorado County and surrounding areas.
