The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) is now accepting applications for its Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) Grant Program, designed to empower young people by offering guidance, funding, and mentorship to support local nonprofit organizations. This program provides an opportunity for youth to engage in leadership, problem-solving, budget management, and teamwork, all while directly funding a local project through a competitive grant application process. The YIP program encourages participants to take an active role in the development, execution, or benefit of a program while fostering essential skills like public speaking and collaboration with peers and adults.
The grant offers a total of $10,000 in funding. Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit project that serves or resides in one of the four eligible counties—Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, or Rappahannock—can apply, provided it meets one of three requirements: youth involvement in the program’s development, execution, or as the primary beneficiaries. “Youth” is defined as school-aged individuals through undergraduate students. After evaluating applications, YIP will select two finalists, with one receiving the $10,000 grant award.
