The grant is designed to encourage existing entrepreneurs, businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and sustainable food cooperatives across the entire food system to address challenges associated with climate change by adopting or expanding the use of agri-food technology.

Funding Information

  • The total available grant funding for 2022 is $400,000.
  • Grants may be awarded to applicants ranging from $1,000 to $99,000.
  • Funds will be paid in installments to support the project for one year.
  • All funds awarded through this grant opportunity must be spent by June 30, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Food system entities within the City of Phoenix municipal boundaries.
  • Food system entities outside Phoenix municipal boundaries are not eligible.
  • Food system entities must be in compliance with any and all applicable laws and regulations that pertain to food production, distribution, processing, recycling, etc., including but not limited to, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Entities may include entrepreneurs, businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions.
  • Entities with 50 or more full-time employees will be required to match 100% of the grant award.
  • Joint proposals will be accepted as part of an effort to adopt/expand Agri-Food Technology Innovation across the food system.
