Project Examples
- Vegetation clearance/fuel reduction in high-risk communities or neighborhoods.
- Partner with similar organizations to strengthen relationships, share resources, and reduce redundancies.
- Educational outreach about fire-wise and fire adaptive techniques to neighborhoods or communities at high risk for wildfire impact.
- Workforce training for tending forest ecosystems and traditional land stewardship.
- Provide water to persons or communities that lose or are threatened with the loss or contamination of water supplies.
- Address immediate impacts on human health and safety by increasing the availability of water.
- Educating community members on the benefits of drought-tolerant landscaping.
- Match funds for other grant-funded projects or proposed projects.
- Assist community members with the implementation of drought-tolerant landscaping.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants within their nine-county service area (Trinity, Tehama, Siskiyou, Shasta, Plumas, Modoc, Lassen, Glenn, and Butte) are:
- Private, non-profit organizations that qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code
- Community Emergency Response Teams
- Fire Safe Councils
- Resource Conservation Districts
- Volunteer Fire Departments
