The goals and objectives of this program are:
- Use climate-smart management and sound science to enhance the health and productivity of agricultural lands.
- Restore, protect, and conserve watersheds to ensure clean, abundant, and continuous provision of water resources.
- Increase carbon sequestration, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and economic opportunities (and develop low-carbon energy solutions).
The purpose of this announcement is to advertise opportunities to parties who are interested in partnering with NRCS to provide technical services to address the key conservation objectives described below in support of IRA implementation. NRCS will accept applications under this notice for single or multiyear applications submitted by eligible entities based in or with substantial operations in Arkansas.
- Conservation partners are invited to apply for NRCS assistance with the following key conservation objectives, projects will only be considered for this opportunity if they place emphasis on at least one of the following key objectives:
- Development and implementation of outreach/communications/marketing strategies to educate the public, specifically agriculture producers, on benefits of Climate Smart practices.
- Development and implementation of outreach/communications/marketing strategies aimed at attracting new customers to NRCS.
- “Boots on the ground” staff capacity that supports planning, design, implementation or management of conservation plans/contracts funded through IRA.
- Data/information documenting the GHG reduction potential of specific conservation practices such as:
- Irrigation Storage Reservoirs
- Irrigation Tailwater Recovery Systems
- On site monitoring of GHG emission reductions on operations with implemented conservation practices.

Project Period
Projects may be between one and two years in duration.
