Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health (SPRCPH) is investing up to $1,000,000 in community-led organizations whose work addresses one of the Opioid Response Initiative priority areas:
- Pregnant people, parents and babies.
- Four grants worth up to $55,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Education for families about treatment options and effects of opioid use on pregnancy.
- Treatment and recovery services for uninsured or underinsured people with opioid use disorder and other mental health conditions.
- Support and care for children and family members impacted by opioid addiction in their family.
- Four grants worth up to $55,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Culturally-specific approaches for treatment and recovery.
- Four grants worth up to $55,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Offer workforce development training in multiple languages about opioid use and substance use disorder.
- Increase community awareness of resources and treatment options for opioid use and substance use disorder.
- Provide culturally-specific case management services for racially and ethnically diverse people with opioid use or substance use disorder.
- Four grants worth up to $55,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Health education, awareness and outreach focused on prevention.
- Four grants worth up to $50,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Raise awareness and offer training about how and when to use naloxone.
- Develop culturally-specific messaging and outreach strategies.
- Conduct community health education and outreach using evidence-based and evidence-informed practices.
- Provide community navigators for people impacted by opioid use or substance use disorder.
- Four grants worth up to $50,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Treatment and support for people involved in the justice system.
- Four grants worth up to $40,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Transportation to and from treatment or other substance use related services for people in the justice system.
- Connect people to pre-trial services, resources and care.
- Four grants worth up to $40,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
- Education and engagement with young people.
- Four grants worth up to $50,000 each will be awarded in this priority area. Work could include:
Grant Period
The contract term for accepted proposals will be for nine months from June 1, 2024, through February 28, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be an organization registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State or have a relationship with a fiscal agent. If you use a fiscal agent, you must provide the fiscal agent’s name, contact information, and a letter of support from the fiscal agent. Eligible organizations can receive funding once per calendar year.
