Through Creative Support Funding, they support arts organizations and other presenters for program activities in the performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, media arts, multidisciplinary arts (involving more than one discipline), and interdisciplinary arts (relating to two or more artistic disciplines). Funding can be used for a single event, several events, or an organization’s entire season. The following application categories are available for Creative Support Funding: Community Arts, Arts Projects, Major Cultural Organizations, and Colleges, Universities, and Government Entities.

Funding Information
- All FY2026 applicants will request a fixed grant amount of $10,000. The maximum request of $10,000 is intended to create a more equitable distribution of funds across all funding categories serving small and large organizations, and those in rural and urban communities.
- FY2026 funded activities should have a public presentation component that takes place during the state fiscal year July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, most funded programs will have a May 31 Term Date, by which all funded programs must be completed.
Criteria
- Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations, units of government, schools, colleges, universities, and Indian tribal government entities with offices in New Mexico are eligible to apply. New Mexico based organizations wishing to apply that are not one of the above may enter into a fiscal sponsorship with an existing nonprofit organization. If using a Fiscal Agent, a formal agreement between the agent and the applicant is required.
- New Mexico Arts applicants do not have to be arts organizations; however individual artists may not apply. As long as applicants meet the eligibility requirements, they are welcome to apply. For example, in some communities, non-arts organizations may be qualified to apply, such as chambers of commerce, historical societies, etc.
