2025 Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Youth Grants

Dated: December 16, 2024

Youth Service America is excited to announce the launch of the 15th Annual Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Youth Grants!

Donor Name: Youth Service America (YSA)

State: All States

County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 01/26/2025

Size of the Grant: Less than $1000

Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned

Details:

With the generous support of the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, they are again offering project grants to youth changemakers—aged 5 to 25—to lead awareness, direct service, advocacy, and philanthropic projects that focus on ending childhood hunger in their communities.

This year, youth may apply for grants of $500 for projects that engage at least 50 other youth as volunteers (project planners, project leaders, and day-of volunteers) in activities designed to help end childhood hunger in their community.

Volunteers are people who help make your project possible. Volunteers may include:

  • Peers who help you plan your project
    • Ex. Recruit volunteers; fundraise for additional supplies; invite local leaders to participate; secure a location for your project; purchase and/or collect supplies
  • Peers who serve in a leadership role on the day of your project
    • Ex. Check in volunteers; document and share the event; serve as the emcee; coordinate speakers; distribute supplies and/or post-event donations
  • Peers who volunteer on the day of your project
    • Ex. Build a pantry; plant vegetables, fruit, or herbs; cook meals; write letters to policy makers; set up and/or take down the project space.

What YSA is looking for?

  • Proposed projects must be youth-led and focus on addressing childhood hunger;
  • Projects must take place during the Sodexo Servathon (April 1 – May 31, 2025), with some activity during Youth Service Month (April 11 – May 11, 2025) and/or Global Youth Service Day (April 25-27, 2025) strongly encouraged;
  • Projects may take place in schools, colleges/universities, afterschool programs, youth organizations, nonprofits, or faith-based organizations;
  • Youth applicants should engage youth not typically asked to serve (including, but not limited to youth with disabilities, youth who are struggling in school, and youth from low-income or underserved communities) as volunteers;
  • Youth applicants must live in the United States, and activities must benefit children and families in the United States.

Uses of funds

Grant funds may be used for:

  • Supplies you need to complete your project
    • Ex. Lumber for pantries or garden beds, seeds to plant, containers to transport meals
  • Recognition items and refreshments for volunteers that do not exceed 40% of the awarded grant
  • Local transportation for youth doing service
  • Postage, copying, and printing directly related to your project.
