This community led grant program provides an exciting opportunity to amplify small business support throughout the month.
Activations must be open to the public, and provide small business owners and entrepreneurs with the resources, tools, opportunities, or community engagement they need to grow, thrive, or celebrate success. Proposals that will be considered include, but are not limited to: business district events, small business workshops, training sessions, panels/forums, networking, pop-ups, and markets. This grant is directed at nonprofits with a proven track record of supporting and advocating for small businesses in Boston. They look forward to seeing creative and impactful proposals that help strengthen Boston’s entrepreneurial community and vibrant small business ecosystem!
Grant Program Objectives
- Empower small business owners with new skills and knowledge to enhance their businesses
- Foster community engagement and networking opportunities for local entrepreneurs
- Promote the growth and sustainability of small businesses in the Boston area
- Encourage collaboration between small businesses, local organizations, and community stakeholders
- Create opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to gain exposure.
Funding Information
- Total Amount Available for Grant Program: $50,000
- Awards will range up to $9,500
- Funds can be used for event space, marketing, speakers or facilitators, materials, equipment, and other event-related expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant organization must have a strong community presence in Boston, and a demonstrated history of providing support or services to small businesses
- The activation must be open to the public and designed specifically for small business owners and entrepreneurs
- Activations should be scheduled starting May 1st and end no later than May 31st in celebration of Small Business Month.
