15 Forever was established by Community Foundation Boulder County in 2006 to promote civic engagement, philanthropy, and leadership among Boulder County youth. Since then, this youth-driven program has granted more than $250,000.
The goal of 15 Forever is to address the needs and concerns of Boulder County youth from a peer perspective. Students in the program learn about philanthropy and local issues by leading their grant cycle. Students conduct a Community Needs Assessment (CNA) to identify the most pressing issues in their community. Then, they raise funds for organizations addressing these needs. 100% of funds raised by students will go directly to grantees.
15 Forever is now accepting grant proposals from organizations that meet at least one of the following needs in Boulder County:
- Need #1: Foundation is looking for organizations that support youth recovery and education related to substance use and addiction.
- Need #2: Foundation is looking for organizations that promote healthy body image in youth.
Funding Priorities
- Grants from 15 Forever are exclusively for proposed activities in Boulder County and/or for the benefit of Boulder County youth. Describe how your proposed activities will impact Boulder County youth in the application. Priority will be given to:
- Organizations committed to equitable outcomes for historically marginalized youth in Boulder County
- Design or delivery of programs is informed by historically marginalized youth
- They define historically marginalized populations to include people most impacted by discrimination, structural racism, inequity, and systemic bias. This list includes, but is not limited to, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, immigrants (including people who are undocumented), people experiencing language barriers, isolated older adults, people experiencing homelessness, and low-income individuals and families.
Eligibility Requirements
- Any nonprofit organization with an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity (not private non-operating foundations) or any governmental or public entity can apply. Groups or organizations that do not have IRS 501(c)(3) designation may do so with a fiscal sponsor
- Grantees must use grant proceeds only for the stated purpose of the grant or for charitable and educational activities consistent with the organization’s tax-exempt status
- Grants from 15 Forever are exclusively for activities or projects in Boulder County and/or for the benefit of Boulder County youth
- Community Foundation Boulder County does not make grants to organizations where grant money from discretionary or field of interest funds would be used to further a particular religious doctrine.
