The program’s goal is to help those in need of assistance continue to afford to live in their homes.
Priority Criteria
- Income: Household income at or below HUD’s very low-income or extremely low-income limits.
- Appraised value: Homes that appraise lower than Overland Park’s previous year’s average property value. The average home value in Overland Park is $498,188.
- Additional need: Veterans, disabled people and senior citizens over the age of 65.
- Long-time residence: Homeowners that have stayed at their current address for more than 15 years.
- Priority neighborhoods: Homeowners living in one of the City’s risk-watch neighborhoods.
