The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is accepting applications for its Seed Grant Program, which supports innovative research projects aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of pancreatic cancer. Grants will fund studies in areas such as treatment, patient care, early diagnosis, detection, cancer biology, basic science, prevention, metabolism, and research core facilities.
The program is designed to provide start-up funding for both basic scientists and clinicians who are developing new ideas to improve diagnosis and create new treatment approaches. It also aims to help researchers gather preliminary data needed to pursue larger grants from other funding agencies.
In addition to supporting early-stage research, the program seeks to deepen the understanding of pancreatic cancer cell biology, biochemistry, physiology, and response to therapies. It encourages collaborative efforts that may lead to future joint funding opportunities.
Each seed grant is valued at $75,000 and has a duration of one year. Applications are open to researchers at U.S. academic institutions and research organizations. Eligible applicants include research-track and clinical-track faculty, staff scientists, and post-doctoral trainees. While collaborative projects are welcomed, each application must have a single principal investigator, and multi-PI submissions are not allowed. Applicants without independent research programs must involve a senior mentor with expertise in pancreatic cancer research. The deadline to apply is August 15, 2025.
