The Kettering Family Foundation supports a wide variety of charitable activities that align with the interests of its Board of Trustees, which consists of members of the Kettering family. The foundation considers applications from organizations working in several key focus areas, including arts, culture, and humanities, education, environment, health and medical, and human services or public and society benefit.
To be eligible for funding, organizations must have a current 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS. Fiscal sponsorships are acceptable but require prior arrangement. However, the foundation rarely considers funding for certain activities, including religious purposes, individual public schools or school districts, capital construction, and foreign-based organizations. The foundation also does not accept requests for grants or loans to individuals, sponsorships of fundraising events, or efforts that attempt to influence legislation.
Please note that multi-year grants, travel expenses, and event sponsorships are typically outside the scope of funding for the Kettering Family Foundation.
