The Orange County Community Foundation, Inc. has announced two grant opportunities for the towns of Orleans and Paoli, Indiana. These grants aim to support projects that enhance the quality of life for residents in these communities.
For Orleans, funding comes from the Don Simmons Unrestricted Fund and the Tegarden Unrestricted Fund. These grants support programs in areas such as arts and culture, civic and historical affairs, community development, education, recreation, health and human services, and youth activities.
In Paoli, grants are available through the Sol Strauss Supporting Organization, which focuses primarily on meeting the needs of children. Other charitable projects benefiting Paoli or specific populations within the town may also be considered. The Sol Strauss Supporting Organization honors the legacy of Sol Strauss, a former Paoli merchant dedicated to improving his community.
Applicants must submit a proposal including a project description, requested amount, contact information, and an explanation of the anticipated impact. They must also provide proof of charitable status or tax-supported entity status and an outline of the organization’s current budget. For-profit entities are encouraged to partner with nonprofits to be eligible for funding.
Funding is open to nonprofits, government agencies, and charitable programs serving these areas. Priority is given to proposals serving broad audiences or addressing urgent local needs. All applicants must be tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3), government entities, or similarly qualified charitable organizations. For-profit groups may be considered if the project meets charitable criteria and receives approval from the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The application deadline is July 31, 2025.
