The Arts Council of Hillsborough County offers the Professional Development for Artists (PDA) Grant Program to support projects that help advance the careers of local artists. This opportunity is specifically for artists living in Hillsborough County, Florida.
The program aims to foster a creative and energetic community that contributes to the area’s cultural and economic vitality. It is a reimbursement-based grant, meaning artists will be reimbursed for approved expenses after completing their projects.
Applicants can request up to $2,000 in funding. The grant covers either an educational experience such as a residency, workshop, or conference, or the purchase of permanent, non-disposable equipment to support the artist’s work.
Projects must take place between January 1, 2026, and August 15, 2026. To be eligible, artists must be at least 21 years old and have lived in Hillsborough County for at least one year prior to applying. They must also remain residents throughout the grant period.
Applicants must be practicing literary, visual, or performing artists with a demonstrated commitment to their artistic careers. Artists currently enrolled in degree programs or who have received an Arts Council grant in the past three years are not eligible. Full-time, arts-related faculty in higher education are also excluded. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
