Clean Fleet Vehicle and Technology Program (Colorado)

The Clean Fleet Enterprise Clean Fleet Vehicle and Technology program is a statewide competitive application process for new fleet vehicles and clean fleet technology.

Details:

Fleets will provide background information on their current fleet make-up, indicate the level of planning that has occurred for fleet transition, and provide financial information on vehicles and/or technology the fleet plans to acquire.

The goals of the Clean Fleet Vehicle & Technology (CFVT) program are to:

  • Facilitate the transition of light, medium, and heavy- duty fleet vehicles to zero-emission electric vehicles by providing financial incentives to fleet owners and operators.
  • Reduce harmful air pollution and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with fossil-fueled fleet vehicles.
  • Support an equitable geographic transition of fleet vehicles to zero-emission electric vehicles in impacted communities across the state.
  • Support implementation of the Colorado Electric Vehicle Plan.

Funding Information

This CFVT grant offer anticipates awarding up to $10 million dollars in total.

Funding Period

To support the prompt deployment of vehicles and program funding, all awarded vehicles must be ordered and placed into regular fleet service within 18 months from the notice of award to be eligible for reimbursement.

Eligible Projects

  • New battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), near-zero emission vehicles (NZEV) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV).
  • New, compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles that utilize a minimum of 90% recovered methane.
  • New, Type A-D battery electric school buses.
  • Electric Transport Refrigeration Units (eTRU) that are quoted with a request for eligible new vehicles.

Eligible Applicants

  • Public and government agencies, including but not limited to tribes and intergovernmental partnerships.
  • Public or private schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Private sector entities (for-profit and nonprofit organizations) who are in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State.
  • Fleets with one (1) or more vehicles.
