These funds are intended to support initiatives to promote equitable access to resources, improve quality of life, and address systemic disparities in areas such as housing, health, education, food insecurity, and community development.
Jackson County recognizes that certain communities face historic and persistent barriers to opportunity. These barriers can stem from economic disinvestment, environmental hazards, limited access to healthcare, or systemic inequities in housing and employment. This grant program is designed to enable local organizations and agencies to address these challenges with innovative, impactful, and sustainable solutions.

Funding Information
- Total funding available up to $35,000,000
- Maximum award per applicant: $1,500,000
- While the County intends to limit awards to no more than $1,500,000 per applicant, the County reserves the right, in rare circumstances, to consider funding above this amount
Project Period
Funding requests are for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2026. The activities or services for which funds are requested must occur in this timeframe
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit organizations with 501(C)(3) status
- Must be a nonprofit organization registered with the State of Missouri
- Must be on the Jackson County tax roles–proof of paid/exempt County taxes will be required
- Must be in existence for a minimum of two (2) years
- Must be located within Jackson County
- Must serve Jackson County residents
- Must not be associated with any personal interest of a member of the Jackson County Legislature or County staff that may be deemed a violation of the ethics policy
- Must obtain a Jackson County Certificate of Compliance
- Currently funded agencies must be in compliance with Finance Department before submitting an application
- Jackson County cannot be the sole funder for any program
- Funding cannot be used to promote political or religious purposes
- Funding cannot be used for events
- Funding is for the purpose of providing a program or service to Jackson County. Said funds are not designated for capital purchases, equipment or hardware of any kind such as vehicles, computers, laptops or televisions
- Funding for salaries cannot exceed 50% of the total salary, the maximum for fringe benefits is 10% of the total ask for the position
- Payment will be made on a quarterly reimbursement basis only after proper documentation and proof of payment are received
- All instructions must be complied with in order for the funding request to be considered in the upcoming fiscal year budget
