Priorities

The County Executive and review team will prioritize FY 2027 Community Support Grant proposals that include support for programming and initiatives in Anne Arundel County that focus on at least one of the following:

  • Providing services to underserved populations
  • Addressing the health and well-being of communities
  • Promoting equity and inclusion
  • Eliminating the Opportunity Gap.

Types of Grants

The following types of projects/programs are encouraged:

  • Program/Project Support that allows non-profit organizations to continue to operate and/or increase the impact of an existing program/project, or to pilot a new program to improve and enrich the lives of Anne Arundel County residents and communities. Costs may include, but are not limited to, program/project specific staff costs, supplies, travel, equipment etc., as well as a percentage of administrative overhead proportional to your program/project’s budget relative to your organization’s operating budget.
  • Capacity Building Support to allow non-profit organizations to operate more efficiently and effectively in pursuit of their mission. These are one-time funds to assist non-profits in building organizational efficiencies and sustainability. This can include strategic planning, governance, professional development, technology improvements and systems innovation, among other things. If you would like to request funding for capacity building support, please complete Section I. Requests in this category should describe how the grant will allow them to expand/improve their impact within Anne Arundel County.

Funding Information

Grant applications should be for no less than $15,000, and awards will typically range from $15,000 to $50,000.

Grant Period

July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

ACDS will consider only organizations that:

  • Are non-profit, tax-exempt, as defined under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code;
  • Have a Fiscal Sponsor with a Letter of Partnership signed by both organizations;
  • Are in good standing with MD State Department of Assessment & Taxation (SDAT) – instructions for obtaining a printout of your good standing status are attached as Exhibit II;
  • Provide a direct service to the residents of Anne Arundel County;
  • Have an established and active Board of Directors;
  • Have filed IRS Form 990 and/or audited financials in FY25;
  • Meet ACDS insurance requirements;
  • Are able to comply with all terms, conditions, and certifications of the required grant agreement.
