CDBG is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Entitlement Grant, administered by the City of Albuquerque, Department of Health, Housing & Homelessness’ Community Development Division.
Beneficiaries of CDBG funds must also meet income guidelines or low-moderate area guidelines. CDBG funds can not be used as replacement funds for an activity, which means that if an activity is already being funded, CDBG funds cannot replace those funds to implement the activity.

The City of Albuquerque receives approximately $4.3 million dollars of CDBG funds annually. Of that funding, 15% can be utilized for Public Service activities (approximately $645,000), 20% (approximately $860,000) for City Staff’s salaries and wages to administer the grant, and the balance (approximately $2,795,000) can be used to fund other eligible activities.
