The Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) seeks eligible entities that deliver structured workforce development programs that use a cohort-based, level specific approach to ensure youth progressively acquire soft skills, vocational training, and applied job experience with a direct pipeline into job placement upon release.
DYRS programming is at the forefront of a national trend in offering progressive, rehabilitative juvenile justice programming. DYRS implements programming with the following three objectives in mind:
- To advance the rehabilitation of DYRS youth by connecting them to services, supports, and resources that help them reach their goals and developmental milestones;
- To enhance public safety by engaging youth referred to positive, developmentally appropriate, and structured activities that complement and enhance DYRS’s methodologies for the care and supervision of young people; and
- To create safer and stronger communities that support youth and families by investing directly in local organizational and human resources that are accessible and dedicated to strengthening young people and their families.
Funding Information
Entities seeking funding will receive an award of up to $300,000.
Grant Period
DYRS anticipates selecting one (1) entity for a period of eight (8) months – starting February 1, 2026.
