Details:
Funded projects should represent a playful exploration of artistic expression that strays from traditional art-making conventions and gallery installation. Proposals should be conceptually oriented to provoke audience response and questions by providing thoughts, images, sounds, and physical arrangements in unexpected places. Applicants are encouraged to submit work in mediums including but not limited to visual arts, performance, literary arts, music and sound, dance, and cross-disciplinary.

- Increase the success and development of artists, especially in new or experimental mediums
- Engage new audiences in the arts
- Expand equitable access to the arts
- Increase social impact through the art.

Project based grant funds up to $3,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- This fund shall serve individual and/or artist groups who strive to practice different art forms and may be an opportunity to broaden artistic experience. Artists must be residents of SLO County and the fund will prioritize individuals who are affiliated with institutions outside of the status quo.
- This fund may not provide support for public murals, or for the City of San Luis Obispo’s Public Art Program or other county cities’ public art programs or as a resource grant for the SLO Museum of Art. It will not be used for personal uses such as non-project equipment purchases, rent, or vacation.
