The Dallas Foundation’s Spring Grant Cycle focuses on a limited number of interest areas as determined by the donors who established the granting funds.

Focus Areas

  • Animal Welfare
    • Support for programs that promote the health and welfare of companion animals, including prevention of cruelty, veterinary care, spay and neuter programs, responsible pet ownership education, animal shelter support, and the adoption of stray animals.
  • Arts & Culture
    • Support for performing and visual arts organizations that expand access to arts experiences, foster creative expression, preserve cultural traditions, and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of Dallas through exhibitions, performances, education, and community engagement.
  • Specialized Health & Disability Programs
    • Support for children and adults facing medical hardship or disability. Focus areas include services for disabled, blind, and deaf children; education for intellectually and developmentally disabled youth; and assistance for children living with debilitating diseases. This category also includes specialized grants for breast cancer support, emphasizing medical care and supportive services for low-income individuals.
  • Domestic Violence Support
    • Support for organizations providing prevention, intervention, and recovery services for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, including emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and long-term stabilization services.

    • Total grant funding available: Approx. $375,000
    • Grant requests from a minimum of $10,000 up to $50,000 in funding may be awarded.
  • Arts & Culture
    • Total grant funding available: Approx. $160,000
    • Grant requests from a minimum of $10,000 up to $50,000 in funding may be awarded.
  • Specialized Health & Disability Programs
    • Total grant funding available: Approx. $350,000
    • Grant requests from a minimum of $10,000 up to $25,000 in funding may be awarded.
  • Domestic Violence Support
    • Total grant funding available: Approx. $90,000
    • Grant requests from a minimum of $10,000 up to $25,000 in funding may be awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

The Dallas Foundation is dedicated to serving Dallas County. Organizations located outside Dallas County may still be eligible if more than half of the clients served reside within Dallas County.

Ineligibility

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals
  • Endowment
  • Organizations without a current 501(c)(3) designation
  • Programs or services not serving Dallas County residents
  • Annual fund campaigns, fundraising event underwriting, marketing or capital campaigns
  • Religious purposes (educational and social service programs offered by faith-based organizations are eligible)
  • Lobbying efforts, as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
