Each year, LBDG invests in nonprofit partners whose work strengthens community through food access, music and performing arts education, support for children, and care for those working in the food and beverage industry. The grant program is designed to fund specific, impact-driven projects that demonstrate clear community need, measurable outcomes, and alignment with focus areas.
Priorities
Applicants must address at least one of LBDG’s four focus areas. Priority will be given to projects that address two or more focus areas or demonstrate a strong impact relative to the requested funding.
- Sustenance to those in need
- Programs that provide food sustaining life or health
- Education through music or the performing arts
- Support for children
- Support of the food and beverage industry
- Mental health services or emergency assistance during unanticipated crises
Funding Information
- Request between $2,500 and $20,000
- Requests for $20,000 will be extremely limited
- Provide a concise project budget and a clear plan to utilize funds within a two-year period.
Eligibility Criteria
All eligible applicants must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or operate under the fiscal umbrella of a 501(c)(3)
- Be located in or primarily serve Upstate South Carolina
- Be in good financial standing and able to submit financial documentation upon request
- Request funding for a specific project or program
- Capital campaigns will not be funded unless LBDG funds the entire project
- Ongoing programs, such as meal boxes, are eligible if the specific impact of LBDG
funding is clearly defined
- Have a method by which to measure, track, and report one or more program outcomes and specific results that demonstrate measurable community impact.
