The goal of this solicitation is to make school entities and nonpublic schools within this Commonwealth safer places.
Funding Information
A total of $20,700,000 in state school safety and security funds is being announced to support this initiative. Applicants can request up to $75,000 for a project period up to 24 months.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are eligible applicants under this solicitation:
- Nonpublic schools, which are defined by Section 923.3-A of the PA Public School Code as “any school, other than a public school within this Commonwealth, wherein a resident of this Commonwealth may legally fulfill the compulsory school attendance requirements of this act and which meets the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The term also includes approved private schools and private residential rehabilitative institutions; and
- Municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and approved school security personnel third-party vendors to support school security personnel services for public school entities and nonpublic schools. This group of applicants will be reviewed and scored separately, based on the criteria outlined in this funding announcement.
