Organizing Grants are only available to organizations and projects that are based in the United States.
Funding Information
The maximum grant award is $10,000. Most grant awards will be around $5000. Occasionally they will consider requests for multiple-year funding.
The Foundation Funds
- The foundation funds newly-founded and existing organizations that are engaged in activist organizing. They prefer groups that don’t have much foundation funding or other traditional streams of income.
- The foundation funds 501c3s and groups with a 501c3 fiscal sponsor.
- The foundation funds projects as well as general operating costs. They are looking for creative and bold ideas that have a specific goal.
- The foundation funds projects and organizations dedicated to fighting for systemic change, rather than personal/individual support.
Ineligibility
- The foundation don’t fund Individuals, or their projects (they only fund group efforts).
- The foundation don’t fund legal or direct services, healing or therapy work, or mutual aid that’s not a small component of the grant request.
- The foundation don’t fund projects or organizations with operating budgets exceeding $250,000.
- The foundation don’t fund lobbying or political campaigns.
- The foundation don’t fund art, films, or dance projects that aren’t a small component of organizing.
- The foundation don’t fund tuition or scholarships.
- The foundation don’t fund university supported projects.
