IBBG serves as a collective for Black women, femmes and girls to actualize their full potential to authentically be, through autonomy, abundance and liberation.
I Be Black Girl Gives (IBBGives) is a first of its kind giving circle and philanthropic platform in Nebraska that creates opportunities for Black women to give in meaningful and collective ways. Voting members, Black women and femmes who invest $150 or more, collectively decide where those dollars go.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations or projects/programs in which at least 80% of leadership and project/program beneficiaries identify as underserved populations, specifically Black women, femmes, or girls.
- Applicants do not need to be affiliated with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
- Organization or project/program budgets should not exceed $50,000.
Criteria
IBBGives prioritizes projects that are led by and benefit underserved populations, including but not limited to Black women, femmes, and girls in Omaha. Grounded in research from Grantmakers for Girls of Color, successful applications often reflect the following guiding principles:
- Promote educational equity and opportunity.
- Engage girls and young women through ongoing or youth‑led initiatives.
- Emphasize strength rather than deficits.
- Acknowledge historical, demographic, and political context.
- Operate collectively rather than competitively.
