City: Charlotte
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 05/04/2026
Size of the Grant: $10,000 to $100,000
Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned
Details:
Many faith communities across Charlotte have land, buildings or ideas that could serve important community needs. Through the Faith in Housing initiative, the City of Charlotte partners with communities of faith who are exploring how their land and leadership can help create affordable housing and other community-serving spaces.
These grants are designed to help faith-based organizations take the next step in exploring what may be possible on their property. Early planning costs can often be a barrier to getting started. This funding helps cover the professional services needed to evaluate ideas and move toward a clearer path forward.
Funding Information
Selected applicants may receive up to $30,000 to support services such as feasibility studies, site planning, architectural concepts, financial modeling, and development consulting.
Eligibility Criteria
Faith-based organizations may be a strong fit for this opportunity if they own or control land that could support development; have leadership that is interested in exploring affordable housing or community-serving uses; and are ready to begin early planning conversations. Projects do not need to be fully defined — organizations at the idea stage are encouraged to apply.
