Priorities
Successful crime prevention programs can take many forms. Funded programs typically address one or more of the following areas:
- Addressing factors that contribute to harmful or unsafe behavior through educational initiatives and awareness efforts.
- Providing opportunities for engagement and personal development through mentoring, educational programs, and recreational activities, especially for individuals who face additional challenges or barriers.
- Promoting safety and positive decision-making through programs and experiences that teach practical strategies, build skills, or help people make choices that keep themselves and their communities safe.

Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the following:
- Be a nonprofit organization with a 501(c)(3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service or a governmental body, such as a school or municipality operating in Brown County
- Conduct business without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual preference, age, marital status, disability or national origin
Faith-based organizations are eligible to apply if their services are designed to benefit the broader community, are open to individuals of all faiths, and do not require participation in religious practices such as prayer, worship, or religious education. Programs would focus on community benefit rather than faith conversion.

- Annual appeals, capital campaigns, sponsorships or other fundraisers
- Individuals
- Endowments
- Debt retirement, debt financing, reduction of an operating deficit or replenishment of resources used to pay for such purposes
- Lobbying or legislative activities
- Capital improvements
- Programming or expenses occurring before the grant is awarded
- Efforts substantially serving people outside of Brown County
- Organizations who seek funding to disburse to a secondary-nonprofit organization.
