Call for Artists for ARTventure Event in California

The City of Costa Mesa invites artists across Southern California (Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties) to apply to ARTventure, a Juried Exhibition and event. More than 50 pieces of artworks will be accepted into the show and will be eligible for awards. ARTventure 2022 will be an in-person event.

Details:

Each entry must provide:

  • Digital Image of Artwork: Digital image should be saved in universal .jpeg format and must be high quality: 2048 pixels minimum, in the longest dimension of the image. No frame, mat, or background visible. Be sure the image is right side up. Jurors will not consider entries that are not displayed correctly. The digital image(s) of artwork will be utilized for the selection process.
  • Artist Biography: The biography should be no more than 300 words. The artist statement is required and may be displayed for the public to view.
  • Artist Statement (as it pertains to the submitted artwork): The statement should be no more than 300 words. Artist statement is required and may be displayed for the public to view.
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae: A resume or curriculum vitae (CV), which should include (if applicable): education, exhibition history and awards.

Artwork

  • All artwork must be original and created from conception to completion by the artist. No giclee prints or any other type of reproduction or copy, will be accepted.
  • Artwork can be two dimensional and or three dimensional, paintings, sculpture photography, digital art, mixed media, etc., and the maximum size is 42″ in width and height.
  • Completed in the last four (4) years, and cannot have previously been accepted in past ARTventure shows.

Selected Artwork

  • Selected artwork will be showcased on multiple platforms: websites, social media, YouTube. All entrants consent to photos of their work being used for the promotion of ARTventure.
  • Only selected artwork will be featured, no substitutions. Artwork title and sale price submitted on the application is final.
  • Certificates will be provided to artists who win an ARTventure award.

  • Distinguished Award for Figurative Art: $350
  • Distinguished Award for Three-Dimensional Art: $350
  • Distinguished Award for Conceptual Art: $350
  • Distinguished Award for Photography: $350
  • Distinguished Award for Mixed Media: $350
  • Youth Award: $150
