This grant will provide homeowners with up to $10,000 in matching funds, through reimbursement, to make improvements to the exterior of their home with a portion visible from the public right-of-way. The purpose of the grant program is to improve the appearance of owner-occupied residential properties.
Eligibility Criteria
The target properties include all Macomb low to moderate household income homeowners that meet the following criteria:
- Your residential property must be located within the City of Macomb’s city limits.
- Your household must fit within the program income guidelines
- You must own and reside in the home being applied for.
- Work must be carried out by you or by someone contracted by you. WIRC /the City will not be responsible for carrying out any of the work.
- Work must be carried out within 1 year after approval of the application.
- You must submit a photograph of the property BEFORE and AFTER the completion of the work.
- You must be current on taxes, including property taxes for the applicable property.
- You cannot have outstanding charges, debts, or liens owed to the City of Macomb unless on a payment plan approved by City administration.
