The Town of Davidson is now accepting applications from nonprofits for grant funding for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

Details:

The following seven goal areas have been identified for 2022-23:

  • A Well-Planned and Livable Community
    • Create well-planned, dynamic community places with connected progressions between them
  • Historic Preservation 
    • Preserve their historic properties that contribute to their vibrant and unique community and honor the history of the lived experiences of their residents
  • Connecting People and Places
    • Expand, improve, and diversify the town’s transportation network to provide residents and visitors with safe, convenient, accessible, reliable, and efficient multi-modal travel choices to connect people across the community
  • Affordable Living, Equity, and Inclusion
    • Work together to create a culture of belonging, address their past inequities, provide opportunities for all, treat everyone with respect and dignity and recognize every voice
  • Sustainability and Natural Assets
    • Preserve Davidson’s natural assets, and develop, implement, and actively encourage innovative solutions to environmental, energy, and climate-based challenges
  • Economic Development
    • Leverage town resources to attract diverse commercial development that contributes to Davidson’s unique local economy and supports new initiatives that create jobs and opportunities for the community
  • Operational Excellence
    • Provide efficient and high-quality public services and facilities through thoughtful and proactive planning, reasonable stewardship of town resources and a professional and committed workforce

Funding Information

The maximum amount of funding available is $50,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nonprofit agencies must serve the Davidson community and meet a public purpose that the town government does not directly provide but could if facilities and staffing were available. The nonprofit agency must be experienced in delivering that service.
  • Nonprofit agencies must have 501(c)3 status, a volunteer board of directors, and must provide to the town appropriate accounting measures, in compliance with the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act, to ensure accountability.
  • The number of agencies funded can change each year, and there is no limit to the number of agencies that can qualify and apply.
