Survive and Thrive – Propel COS Grants for Pandemic affected Businesses in Colorado

Exponential Impact in partnership with the City of Colorado Springs is accepting applications for the ‘Survive and Thrive – Propel COS Grant’ to support businesses facing adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Details:

The Survive and Thrive Program began out of an acute need to support businesses that were struggling with the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Colorado Springs’ business community has come back stronger than ever, but the lingering effects of COVID-19 still persist. Therefore program will prioritize applications from the hardest hit businesses which are experiencing lingering effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, including: tourism, hospitality, sports venues, event venues, and performance venues. Below are a handful of potential COVID-19 impacts that could be highlighted in your application:

  • Customer Decline: Due to changes in customer behavior and spending patterns
  • Staffing Difficulties: Due to worker anxieties or transition challenges
  • Supply Chain Issues: Due to inflated restart costs or supplier changes

Funding Information

  • This program provides up to $50,000 in grants to eligible participants and holistic programming to provide participants with both financial resources and community support to build back stronger. Funding will be provided in two tranches, one at the start of the program and one upon completion.
  • If awarded funds, business owners are expected to participate in the 2-month course. Businesses participating in the program will also benefit from having access to mentorship and networking opportunities, as well as in-person skill-building events

Eligibility Criteria

Organizations that experienced negative economic impacts or other disproportionate impacts of the pandemic including small and medium businesses with between 1-500 full-time employees and nonprofits that are 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) tax-exempt organizations are eligible to apply for the Survive and Thrive – Propel COS Grant. Eligible Applicants must be able to provide proof of the following:

  • Applicant is 51% + majority owner of the business (or has consent of the owners)
  • Applicant is 18+ years of age
  • Organization is located in the City of Colorado Springs
  • Organization is not currently in bankruptcy
  • Organization currently possesses active liability insurance or will do so within 30 days
  • Valid SSN or EIN, UEI Number, and a Business Bank Account
  • Owner/Applicant is not debarred –SAM.gov registration is current, if applicable
  • Not have a conflict of interest with the City of Colorado Springs or the operating program agency
  • A plan to use assistance to prevent, prepare or respond to coronavirus impacts and can demonstrate how the funds will be impactful to full recovery.
