Local Priorities
The Freetown Cultural Council receives an annual appropriation of state funds from the Massachusetts general council and makes these funds available to the community through its grant program. FCC accepts grant applications online for individuals and organizations. As a member of the Massachusetts cultural Council they are able to offer funding to community groups, musicians, storytellers, artists, schools, theatrical groups and nature preservationists who create art and/or educational programs for the community, sharing their talent and ideas to enrich the lives of those who participate. They believe that a strong presence of the arts, science and humanities is essential to build a strong community and thriving educational system. Their primary objective is to develop and fund projects that work these elements into the fabric of their community.
Freetown Cultural Council gives Grant priorities to programs which directly benefit the community to the greatest extent possible. Grant applicants are asked to have a venue lined up for programs before applying.
