Months after City Council approved the Kansas City Housing Trust Fund Board’s 14 recommended housing projects from its first ever request for proposals, the application for a second round of proposals is now open.
The Housing Trust Fund will prioritize applications which:
- maximize the total number of affordable units with longer periods of affordability given higher priority;
- serve extremely low-income households (30% or less of area median family income (AMFI)) and projects serving very low-income households (31% to 50% of AMFI), including permanent supportive housing;
- include units with more bedrooms suitable for larger families; and
- include community land trust, cooperatives, public housing collaborations, and other options that allow for long term affordability.
Funding Information
This round of applications includes more than $10 million in funding opportunities, which will continue to provide quality housing opportunities for extremely low, very low, and moderate-income households.
