Burgum Foundation Grant Program for Nonprofit Organizations in North Dakota

Dated: October 14, 2022

The Burgum Foundation supports effective programs offering assistance to those in need of a healing, faith-based community and those organizations that create hope and a sense of community in rural areas that needs it most.

Donor Name: Burgum Foundation

State: North Dakota

County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: Ongoing

Details:

Areas of Interest

  • Education: Support for exceptional programs that improve educational opportunities and quality of instruction for students in rural communities and disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Mental Health Services in Rural Schools: To support the need for behavioral health services in rural North Dakota, Burgum Foundation works as a partner to school districts and a variety of service providers to increase access for students needing mental health services. The partnership brings behavioral health professionals on-site, within the school, which eliminates the transportation barrier in many of these rural communities.
  • Teacher Leadership Opportunities: Teacher Leadership cohorts in North Dakota are collaborations between local districts and North Dakota Universities to offer a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership for teachers. Since 2014, numerous school districts have benefited from this on-site program. TLA students complete their degrees in five semesters; this program serves schools across the state and every academy is taught in the context of the local district.

Eligibility Criteria

Burgum Foundation makes grants only to nonprofit organizations that qualify for public charity status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Most of their grants are limited to organizations located in North Dakota or serving the people of North Dakota.
