Whether reimagining where their organization is headed, seizing a new business opportunity or enhancing the services they offer, the Transformation Challenge provides strategic guidance and funding to help nonprofits plan and kickstart their journey.
Grant Priorities
- The grant is designed to support an organization with the strategic planning and implementation of transformational change. Examples of transformational change include charting a new direction, seizing a new business opportunity that will help the organization grow and expand its impact, or enhancing organizational services for greater reach and impact.
- The $75,000 in services from Mapt will support the chosen nonprofit organization with strategic planning, including a landscape review and critical assessment of the opportunity, strategic plan development and a first-year implementation plan. The nonprofit will then use the $25,000 to start implementing the plan. There are no restrictions on the use of the funds, as long as they are used to directly support the plan’s implementation.
- Preference will be given to organizations working to create equity and opportunity for underserved populations. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to, education, workforce development or other social services where work is being done to help individuals improve their economic mobility.

Eligibility
- Any nonprofit hoping to expand their capacity to do transformative work in Indiana is eligible to apply.
- Mapt does not support organizations or projects discriminating based upon race, religion, ethnicity, age, gender or sexual orientation.
- They also don’t make grants to individuals or toward political campaigns or partisan activity.
