Learning Ally announces PreK-2 Literacy Grant Program for Schools

Excite Reading™ is an award-winning early literacy supplement to support PreK-2 teachers who want to share engaging children’s literature, while developing emergent readers’ comprehension skills.

Educators in awarded schools will work with Learning Ally to implement the solution with fidelity and provide benchmark data and feedback. Implementation training, check-ins, and ongoing support are part of the Grant to ensure educator and student success.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This is a need based scholarship. They are looking for schools where there is either financial need or need based upon low levels of reading proficiency/poor performance on reading assessments or overall educator assessment that significant portions of students PreK-2nd grade are struggling with learning reading foundational skills.
  • Schools/Districts that are selected for the Grant commit to implementing the program to Learning Ally’s criteria of fidelity. Schools will ensure timely and agreed upon levels of student enrollment. Schools will ensure fidelity of use by educators and students.
    • Willing to implement starting January 2, 2023 through June 2023
    • Any and all grades PreK-2
    • At least 2 teachers participate for each grade level they choose to include
    • Participants will implement with fidelity (at least 3x/week for 20 minutes per session)
    • Participants will provide feedback and complete pre- and post-surveys
    • Participants will share reading benchmark data (pre and post) that will be anonymized
  • The Learning Ally Ed Success Team will provide needed support for Educators and Students. Schools/Districts will commit to allowing Learning Ally regular check-ins and allow Learning Ally to chronicle the experience of the educators and students.
  • Educators will provide Learning Ally with updates, quotes and if possible photos of students using the program to be shared on Learning Ally social channels.
