Details:

The Healthy Living Grant Program was launched in 2017 to support new and innovative community-driven well-being activities. The program supports communities in building social connections through healthy eating, physical activity, mental health awareness and community building. Research shows they are more likely to stick with healthy activities if they do them with other people they feel connected to.

St. Louis Park is committed to being a connected and engaged community, the Healthy Living Grant’s purpose is to increase well-being through community-driven action. Healthy Living Grants support neighborhoods, individuals and organizations that collaborate with members of their communities in the places where they live, learn, work and play.

Funding Information

There is a $1,000 grant award limit per applicant and activity or program. There is a $200 limit per application is available for the purchase of insurance.

Eligible Activities

  • Activities supported by the Healthy Living Grant Program should meet the following criteria:
    • New program, initiative or activity.
    • Support or improve physical or mental well-being.
    • Support or improve social connections.
    • Be inclusive for all the program is designed for.
    • Have well defined goals for the community the program is designed for.
  • Examples of eligible uses for grant funds:
    • Promotional materials.
    • Healthy foods and refreshments at wellness activities.
    • Mental health support groups.
    • Meditation classes.
    • Exercise equipment for public use.
    • Gardening materials.
    • Tobacco cessation groups.
    • Space rental and event materials.

Eligibility Criteria

  • In order to be eligible for the Healthy Living Grant, the applicant must be a resident, volunteer or employee of a St. Louis Park organization. City of St. Louis Park employees are ineligible to apply for grant funds. Activities and programs must:
    • Be designed for those within St. Louis Park
    • Reside in St. Louis Park boundaries
    • Be inclusive and equitable
  • Applicants are required to get input from individuals the program and projects are designed for. This is included as part of the grant application.
