Texas: LCRA Community Development Partnership Program

Dated: January 4, 2023

LCRA supports local communities in its service area through grants of up to $50,000 through the Community Development Partnership Program (CDPP).

Donor Name: Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA)

State: Texas

County: Selected Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline : 01/31/2023

Size of the Grant: up to $50,000

Grant Duration: 12 months

Details:

CDPP grants help local governments, emergency responders and tax-exempt nonprofit organizations fund capital improvement projects that might otherwise not be possible. Grant-funded projects must have physical addresses located within LCRA’s wholesale electric or water service area, or areas in which LCRA Transmission Services Corporation provides transmission services.

Funding Information

Applicants requesting more than $5,000 in grant funding must supply matching funds of at least 20 percent of the total project cost. Grants larger than $25,000 are intended for particularly impressive and noteworthy projects with a far-reaching impact on a broad community. The larger grant category is extremely competitive, as funding in the $25,000+ category is limited to 30 percent of the grants awarded. There is a minimum request of $1,000.

The CDPP program places emphasis on projects for volunteer fire departments, and projects that address needs caused by wildfires or drought conditions, or include water conservation, energy conservation or educational components.

Eligibility Requirements

Most local governments and nonprofit organizations in LCRA’s wholesale electric and water service areas, or areas in which LCRA Transmission Services Corporation provides transmission services, are eligible to apply for a CDPP grant. Grant recipients can include: Cities and counties Civic organizations Schools Volunteer fire departments Libraries Emergency responders Museums Historical associations

  • The project must be completed within 12 months of the date the grant is received. Failure to complete the project on schedule or abide by the terms of the letter agreement may result in LCRA requiring the recipient to return the grant.
  • Grants of more than $5,000 require a minimum 20 percent match of the total project cost; matching funds must be documented in the application.
  • The grant recipient must post signage that clearly, permanently and publicly acknowledges the sponsorship of LCRA and LCRA’s wholesale electric customer serving the recipient’s area, if applicable.
  • The project must be maintained for the public purpose for which the grant was awarded.
