Patient Engagement at Opioid Treatment Programs in District of Columbia

The Government of the District of Columbia, Department of Behavioral Health, Adult Services Administration is soliciting applications from qualified organizations to implement the Improving Patient Engagement at Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) program under the District of Columbia Opioid Response 3 (DCOR 3) grant.

Details:

The DCOR 3 grant is focused on increasing access to medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), treatment reducing unmet treatment needs, and reducing opioid overdose-related deaths in the District of Columbia through the provision of prevention, treatment, and recovery support services (RSS) to individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD). Under the DCOR 3 grant, there can also be a focus on individuals with stimulant use disorder (STUD).

This RFA identifies opportunities to implement strategies that improve patient engagement at OTPs. Such strategies should reduce barriers to accessing treatment for prospective patients, re-engage patients who have unexpectedly or prematurely discontinued their treatment, support current patients to promote retention, and provide whole-person care.

Funding Information

  • Anticipated Amount Available: $150,000
  • Ceiling Award Amount: $50,000

Period of Performance

The anticipated performance and funding period is June 1, 2023 through September 29, 2023.

Target Population

The target population is individuals in the District of Columbia with opioid use disorder who are enrolled in an OTP. Location of Services Services associated with this grant must take place in the District of Columbia.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible entities who can apply for grant funds under this RFA are Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) certified and accredited according to 42 CFR 8, physically located, and currently operating in the District of Columbia. Eligible applicants must also have the ability to enter into an agreement with DBH requiring compliance with all governing federal and District of Columbia laws and regulations, including Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health Grants.
