Details:

BID Formation Grants are available to place-based nonprofits that are currently working with SBS and have a formal steering committee that has completed and analyzed needs assessment survey data. Applicants may be in the planning or outreach phases of the BID Formation process.

The focus of the BID Formation Grant is to provide resources to existing formalized steering committees as they work to demonstrate the value of and deliver a successful BID proposal from planning through legislation. BID Formation Grant proposals should demonstrate the success of efforts to date to organize and deliver on critical BID Formation deliverables and propose projects that will further support the Steering Committee in planning and securing broad- based support for the BID proposal. In addition to the supporting the work of the BID Formation Steering Committee, BID Formation Grant proposals may also provide commercial revitalization services to demonstrate the impact and value of BID programs in the community and provide additional opportunities for community outreach and building broad based support. BID Formation grantees should seek to secure necessary support and begin legislation at the conclusion of funding.
