The purpose of the grant program is to assist early-stage entrepreneurs with planning, locating, and launching new businesses in downtown Davenport. Further, as a priority within the downtown Master Plan, to strengthen and expand the minority entrepreneurial community. This program will serve as one of the ways to remove growth barriers and foster opportunities for greater economic inclusion downtown.
Funding Information
- DDP grant funding per business will be no less than $2,000, but no more than $5,000. Total
- grant funding available for FY22 is $20,000
- DDP has earmarked $10,000 of grant funding to encourage entrepreneurs representing minority-owned businesses to consider downtown locations and apply for funding assistance
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a startup company in initial stages of business
- Locate within the downtown Davenport SSMID.
- To be eligible for earmarked funds, applicant must be a minority or woman and the majority owner of a for-profit new or expanding small business, as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
