The COVID-19 public health emergency has disproportionately impacted racial and ethnic minorities across the United States with Hispanic or Latino populations experiencing higher risk of infection, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. A major contributing factor has been limited access to health and social services programs for such populations.
Funding Information
- The City has allocated $50,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) for the selected non-profit organization.
- The City will select only one applicant for the award.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be in “Good Standing” with the State of Maryland through the Department of Assessments and Taxation, and with the City of Mount Rainier.
- Have a successful track record of serving residents of the City through similar programs.
- Be familiar with the United States Department of Treasury’s guidelines and requirements for the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CSLFRF) Program, including the Final Rule.
- Clearly show how their program will provide services to Hispanic or Latino populations, including those that reside in Qualified Census Tracts (QCTs) as defined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development or those from low-income households.
- Agree to comply with the Federal Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (e.g., the “Uniform Guidance”)
