United Way of Bemidji Area offers support in the following community impact areas:
- Education – Helping children, youth, and adults achieve their full potential
- Basic Needs/Income – Promoting financial stability and increasing self-sufficiency or providing basic needs/crisis emergency services
- Health – Improving people’s health and social well-being Services which are supported by United Way dollars should be clearly defined and their impact documented by the organization applying for or receiving funds.

The maximum grant available through the Community Response Grant Program is $2,500. There is no minimum grant request.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations operating in Beltrami, Hubbard, and/or Clearwater Counties.
- Potential for solving an emerging short-term need, as defined by the objectives of the project itself, and as indicated by the capabilities of the agency/organization.
- Evidence of non-duplication if other services/programs are currently available to the target population in the identified geographic area of service.
- The ability of the agency or project to attract or develop funds to continue the project after funding through the Community Response Grant is exhausted, if appropriate.
