Organizational Effectiveness support can be used to strengthen capacity in areas such as strategic planning; evaluation and learning; communications; financial planning and fundraising; leadership transitions; board development and governance; among others.
Successful proposals will:
- Explain how the organization responds to important challenges faced by West Marin’s communities
- Demonstrate how the organization’s work has benefited the communities they serve
- Explain how the proposed activities will strengthen the applicant’s ability to better serve West Marin’s communities
- Identify clear outcomes for the proposed activities and ways to track progress
- Demonstrate responsible fiscal management and adequate accounting procedures
- Set specific goals to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion with the proposed activities
- Identify ways to continue to strengthen the organization’s capacity after the grant ends
- Priority will be given to proposals that respond to this year’s theme.
Funding Information
The minimum amount awarded is $5,000 and the maximum is $10,000.
Grant Period
If awarded a grant, an organization will be expected to use the funds within 10 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) organization or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor
- Serve West Marin, ideally for the last three years
- Have a commitment to racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Priority will be given to organizations with an annual budget under $2,000,000.
